Pain and discomfort, are not
a natural result of life and aging, they are the ways our
body lets us know that some aspect of our life is out of alignment
or balance. Reiki releases blocked "ki" (energy)
that keeps the body in stress and poor health, and then energetically
nourishes these areas A growing number of people are receptive
to energy work, and other less-than traditional healing modalities
now available as a way to integrate natural healing with western
medicine. Many of these are ancient healing arts being re-discovered.
Chances are if you have found your way to this site, you are

Reiki is a natural healing technique
that feels like a flow of high frequency energy into and through
the practitioner, then out the hands into the client. The Reiki
practitioner acts as a conduit or facilitator as the energy moves
into and through their hands to the client, who will draw energy
for as long as, and where it is needed.
You can expect to feel deeply
relaxed during and after a session as the Reiki energy moves through
your bodies’ energy centers clearing and blocks. Reiki releases
these energy blocks, relaxes, balances, and restores.
A standard Reiki session includes
placing the hands on or slightly above the body at specific positions
beginning at the top pf the head. Each position is held 2 to 5 minutes
or as long as the client “draws” in energy.
In its long history of use,
Reiki has aided in healing issues of stress and old habits and virtually
every known illness and injury including cancer and other diseases.
Reiki practitioners are in place in many hospitals.
When I use the term ‘healing’,
I do not mean this in the traditional doctor patient situation where
a diagnosis is made and treatment is prescribed; but rather, an
alternative modality such as Reiki is added as an alternative treatment
to bring about a calm change to the physical or emotional situation.
Reiki can be sent over a distance as well; universal energy is everywhere
and there are no time or space constraints so the client need not
be present to experience this powerful energy.
History surrounding Reiki
The word "Reiki" [pronounced
ray-key] is made of two Japanese words Rei and Ki. Rei means "God's
Wisdom" or "The Higher Power." Ki means "life
force energy." So the Reiki symbol or kanji means, "Spiritually
guided Life Force energy." This energy works in and around
your energy centers to ground, balance, protect, and restore.
The best understanding we have been
able to discover is that Dr. Mikao Usui re-discovered the system
of healing in 1914. he taught and practiced based on his mystical
experience on Mt. Kurama Usui eventually trained Chujiro Hayashi,
a retired Japanese naval officer, in the mid-1920s. Hayashi then
passed on his knowledge to a Japanese Hawaiian named Hawayo Takata.
Mrs. Takata introduced the Usui Reiki system into the western world
form her native Hawaii. Takata eventually passed her knowledge of
Reiki on to 22 students, who became Reiki Masters. One of Takata’s
students passed on Reiki to my Master-Teacher. My practice is based
on the teachings of the Usui system of natural healing.

I
had been a client of Lori's and asked Lori to do a treatment
on my daughter who was experiencing balance issues. After
only two sessions, her balance was restored and the issue
of “spinning” had stopped altogether . She did
not even realize it until I mentioned it to her.
