Many
people might not know that Reiki is very effective for animals
as well as people. With animals, the specific hand positions
are not as important but generally correspond to the “chakra
system” of the body or the energy centers.
During a hands-on session, Reiki
energy moves through the hands of the practitioner and into the
client. Reiki practitioners only receive the energy from “source”
and then offer it; it is when the animal or person is receptive
to accept the energy that healing can occur.
As I start a session with an
animal, I always “offer” Reiki at a distance and let
the animal come to me if he/she decides to. During a Reiki session,
you may observe your animal becoming extremely relaxed.
Reiki Practitioners do not diagnose or take the place of a veterinarian
or doctor.
Reiki can be sent over a distance as well; I was taught that with
this type energy there is no space or time issue, so the client
need not be present to experience this powerful energy.
For me, the real benefit comes when
I hear from a client I have worked with doing hands on or sending
Reiki over a distance and it is the description of their animal’s
physical and emotional behavior changing for the positive that counts.
Veterinarians who offer a holistic
approach to companion animal care are recognizing Reiki benefits
as well. Ask your veterinarian about Reiki. Worth noting, is the
benefit to animals undergoing cancer care or dealing with end of
life issues. Reiki can help them feel calm and relaxed about making
the transition.

Larry
I asked her to please work on my Cat and he responded
so well. He was always so excited when Lori came to him.
The Reiki was so helpful he would just love it. He was feeling
much better with the Reiki sessions and when Lori would
come to him would always just turn on his back and just
let her do her thing. Larry did not want to, nor was he
ready to die. She came to Larry a few times a week for Reiki
treatments based on his needs.
Huckleberry is my beloved
15-year-old dog Companion.
In the past
two years, he has begun to feel his age and was recently diagnosed
with a liver tumor. At the time of his diagnosis, I felt that
the time we had left together was short. On the advice of a
friend, I contacted Lori; since Lori started offering him Reiki,
Huck has improved considerably. He is much more perky and active
(we're able to go on short walks more frequently now), he's
eating better and the spark of happiness is back in his eyes.
He's clearly enjoying life once again. Although our future together
is uncertain, I am so pleased that the time we have right now
is happy and meaningful, and I know that when the time comes
to face hard issues, Lori will be there to help us through it
with her compassion, insight and unsurpassed skills. ~
